We had 1 month in Ohio before school started, which was great to have enough time to reconnect with friends, get ready for school, and go school shopping!
Old Navy & Target had pretty much everything we needed for school to start! Having 4 kids in school is proving to be pretty expensive between school clothes, shoes, activities, supplies and fees!!! Can you tell Emery was sure not enjoying himself shopping?
Middle School Orientation...Riley and his friends went to the middle school for a few hours to get an orientation of the school. He came back and was SO excited to start!
Sunny & Elle went with me to Back to School night to meet their teachers and to see who is in their classes! They both were super excited to see where their desks were, to see what friends they knew, and to meet their teachers! I can honestly already tell it is going to be the BEST school year for all of the kids!
The night before school starts is always a big deal for us. I really want the kids to feel prepared and to feel excited for the new school year! We did a fun celebration dinner with bubbly, then a family lesson on the Fackrell Family Back 2 School Mottos...
After that, Regan was able to give each of the kids a Father's Blessing that was pretty special. He blessed each of the kids individually to focus and learn a lot in school this year, to be kind and include everyone, and to stand up for what they know is right.
Well, the 1st day of school came and I was probably more nervous than the kids were! Riley wanted to ride his bike with his friends since the middle school is so close. Keep in mind that he had a HUGE backpack, a big violin and a big binder to hold while on his bike!!
Such a handsome guy... 1st day of 6th GRADE!
Bike riding buddies!
After the first shift was done, I went back home to get ready for the second shift! Sunny & Elle are both at the same elementary school.
Sunny's 1st day of 4th GRADE! She looked so cute with her outfit that she picked out all by herself!
Elle's 1st day of 2nd GRADE! She also picked out her cute first day outfit!
These 2 girls were SUPER excited to start school!
But this little guy was NOT excited for his best friends to leave him...
Here are all of the kids ready to get on the bus for the first day of school!
Day 2 of school...they picked out their own outfits again which is a big deal for those of you who know me...I like to have them match twinners every day, but I have totally let go.
But on Day 3, they decided they wanted to wear the same outfit!
With all of this free time during the day, I was able to start Emery on the violin officially! He has done very well without the distractions and is doing a great job!
So one way I get to "spy" on Riley in the middle school is once a month, I get to volunteer at lunch time to open the school store! I LOVE watching Riley interact with his friends during lunch, and with the older kids, I love watching how awkward they are. Being in the middle school makes me so glad that phase of my life is over!
Yes, I made the girls wear these matching outfits and one of the two girls was not Too happy about it! Elle kept saying to Sunny, "They are really comfy Sunny...you will like it!" That is the 2nd grader telling the 4th grader to buck up and wear the outfit! Finally, Sunny put it on and says, "this is pretty comfy!" That is after tears and yelling keep in mind! They sure looked cute!
The second week of school was spirit week. I just LOVE how much confidence and positivity Riley exudes. Monday was pajama day...Riley full on wore his footy pjs and was not embarrassed in the least! In middle school, I would have NEVER done that...I totally wish I would have had Riley's confidence in middle school!
I only got a picture of him on Thursday-Professional Day. He wore his whole suit to school while riding his bike! What a great kid I have!
Friday was school colors and the 6th grade dance after school. Riley looked so cute in his blue and orange and I was dying to talk to him when he got home from the dance! In typical fashion of a boy, he said, "it was fun." That's it? I've been waiting all day to hear every detail and that's all you give me! So lets just say there were a lot of follow up questions.
Emery had a long 2 weeks before he was able to go meet his preschool teachers! He seriously could not wait to see where he goes to preschool. He starts tomorrow for his first day for 4 hours! He eats his lunch at school, goes to art, music, spanish and p.e!!! Now its finally his turn!
Riley had some special guests visit him at lunch! Yeah Aunt Angie & Uncle Jordan!
The first month has gone so great for all of the kids and I am so grateful that they have had such great experiences!!
