ARUBA!

Regan and I celebrated our 15th anniversary this summer, so we were going to celebrate it when we were together on the American Family Trip which was supposed to be at the Greenbriar resort in West Virginia. Because of the flooding that happened in May, the Greenbriar was no longer available to us, so Regan scheduled for us to go to Aruba instead!
He totally took one for the team on this one because he doesn't enjoy the beach all that much, he would rather go out and sight see or do an adventure! Me, I LOVE THE BEACH! So, he
booked a trip for us to Aruba!
It was my first time leaving Winnie, and 5 kids for that matter, so leading up to the trip, I was so nervous. Not nervous that my Mom could't manage taking care of everyone, just nervous because I had never left all of them for a whole week!

Once we got to Aruba, the nervous feeling went away and the relaxation sunk in! Right when we checked into our hotel, we were greeted with the most delicious drink I have ever had!
Mojito!
Virgin of course! OH my goodness, this drink was amazing! Our resort was rated #2 on the whole island! It was so beautiful!

This is the normal Mojito. It is club soda, lime, simple syrup and mint leaves! We later discovered a froze mojito which is even better! It is everything just blended up together! Our routine while in Aruba was: wake up, eat a delicious breakfast, go to the beach, sit under a cabana reading our books, when we got hot, swim in the gorgeous water, come back to our hut, dry off, read some more, take a nap, order lunch to come to our cabana, go back out to the water, go to an amazing dinner, come back to our hotel and take our iPads to the outdoor couch looking out to the ocean, watch a movie and order a frozen mojito! THE BEST TRIP EVER! SOOOO RELAXING!!!
The lizards were all over! Our kids would have LOVED THEM!!!

We were one of maybe 10 people on the beach! We basically had it all to ourselves! The white sand was so smooth and the water was so clear and blue. I felt like I was in a movie!
Regan would go snorkeling while I would swim. He got some really cool shells for the girls!
 Dream come true!!!
We decided to try something different than the mojito and got pina coladas instead!

We had dinner right on the beach one night to celebrate our 15th anniversary! Regan and I kept saying, is this for real? The best night ever!!!
It will be hard to top this trip!

Until next time, Aruba!
