SOOOO....the first part of October, we got some pretty big and exciting news that Regan got a new job in Wisconsin with American Family Insurance! Madison, Wisconsin is the headquarters for AMFAM, so we think this is going to be our last move for a while! The kids have been nothing but excited and supportive! I just can't tell you how blessed I am to have these kids! I think that most kids would be terrified and mad that their crazy parents make them move every 3 years, but these kids of mine are just awesome! They are adaptable, friendly, and up for adventure!
We got a fun bouquet of cookies from Regan's boss to say Congrats!
Now for the hard part...selling a house! Not to mention Regan pretty much started his new job in Wisconsin immediately so it was up to me to sell the house without him! It is so funny for me to even look at these pics because when we first bought this house, I did NOT like it! There was just so much that needed to be done to it! 3 years later, I can honestly say it has been my favorite house! So many hours of painting and other projects made it the beautiful house it is now!
Here is the kitchen! It used to be neon green and gross white tile.
The music room was my favorite room in the whole house! It was the PERFECT place to go in and practice every day with the kids!
This room used to be red...
We had many fun nights in this movie room watching movies and cake wars!
My fun scrapbook/craft room
The family room was also a favorite. It used to be brown walls and white tile and white grout that you could NEVER get to look clean. I painted the whole thing silver sage, sewed new drapes, my friend and I put in the white wall and paneling and Regan had someone put the beautiful flooring in.
Emery and Winnie's room...used to be purple!
Riley's room used to be purple...
His bathroom was dark brown...
This is one of the only rooms I kept as is. The girls were in LOVE with the pink, so I just had to keep it! They had a fun time sharing rooms together.
Master Bathroom
Master Bedroom.
Toy room! I loved this room. It used to be neon green, dark purple and neon orange! I painted it mint and chalkboard black walls
Once all of the work was done, it was time to get a realtor and put it up on the market! Everyone kept telling me it would sell in 1 week or less! Ya right...that didn't happen even though we had a ton of open houses and showings. We continued to lower the price each week, and then the strangest thing happened...
Back up a few months. Regan hired our friend that we knew in Utah to a position at amfam in Ohio! One night I came home with all of the kids to a beautifully clean house after a showing to a phone call from my realtor. She said, you are never going to believe it, but I have an offer from your friend Tyson for your house! WHAT? Answer to prayers! This momma was just about to go crazy with keeping the house spotless 24/7 with 5 kids...no dog though. We hired 2 teenage boys in our ward to watch Sweetie for a month while we sold the house!
Anyway, the Woodruff's, the family we were friends with in Utah bought our house!!! SO awesome! It was a dream house to me and now they can make wonderful memories in it as well. Not to mention amazing neighbors and the best neighborhood and schools! Can you tell it was a bit hard for me to leave OHIO? Who would have thought!
Did I make my kids eat meals outside? Yes I did! It was beautiful fall weather so it all worked out!
SOOOO....now for finding a house in Madison, Wisconsin with Regan! We had friends watch kids and they were all scattered around! They had SO Much fun at their friends houses while Regan, Winnie and I tried to find a house in 3 days! Madison really reminds me of Columbus! It was a beautiful Fall weekend, which is good that I didn't see how cold it really is...
We drove by our soon to be Church which is 20 minutes away
SO after looking at 12 houses in 1 day, we got a lead from a friend that this house was going to go on the market that weekend. Our realtor got us a showing and Regan was sold immediately. I liked it, but I had my heart set on a dream house up the street. We weighed the pros and cons on my dream house and this house that Regan liked, and it all came down to 1 word: FUNCTIONALITY. This house was a lot more functional for our family situation that the other, so we put an offer on this house and within 5 minutes, we had an accepted offer! WHAT? We found our house and had everything finalized in 1 weekend!
Paper plates and eating outside became our THING!
If you would have asked me if I would have been sad to leave OHIO when we first moved here, I would have said no. After 3 1/2 years of living here, I grew to LOVE it so much! The greenery everywhere, the friendly mid western people, the house, the neighbors, the schools! We grew as a family here. We didn't have family near us, so we had to bond and grow more and we sure did that.
Another great thing that came out of our time in OHIO, was WINNIE! Our family of 5 kids is complete and we are so grateful for our time in OHIO! It was a wonderful place to live and we will always look back and think fond memories of OHIO!
{my amazing next door neighbor, Dick Nagel took this picture! It is a cool barn by our elementary school, and he climbed down the hill and went on the private property with us just to take these pics! We miss those neighbors so much!}
