A New Year brings some Changes...

I love New Years because it is the perfect time to make new goals and to change things that you don't like. During the holiday, I just went for it and didn't pay attention to what I ate and didn't work out very hard.
Now that 2015 is underway, and the kids are starting school again tomorrow, it is a perfect time for me to make some changes. I want to make myself accountable for these changes, so every Monday, I will write about how I am doing with my New Years goals on my blog for my own accountability.

I have done so much research as to what I should do to make these healthy changes in my life, and what I have come up with for my game plan is the following:
Breakfast: Green Smoothie + 20 oz. water
Mid Morning: Bar + 20 oz. water
Lunch: Salad + 20 oz. water
Mid Day snack: almonds + 20 0z. water
Dinner: Meal Prep Meal/Paleo Meal +20 oz. water
{100 oz. water a day!}

I have loved what I have read about the Paleo Diet {lifestyle} which is basically the basics of food {think caveman} fruits, veggies. protein, nuts {no sugar, very little carbs, very little fat}

Another thing I have really loved is the idea of Meal Prep. One day a week {Monday's maybe?} I will cook enough food for the week and store it in containers in the fridge so that I can grab and eat...no thinking involved. No option to eat bad food.

 Food is seriously 95% of the battle for me with weight loss and being healthy! Yes its great that I am at the gym, but my body type just responds to food the most, so by paying more attention to what I am eating this year will be the way that I lose the weight! If I don't have a plan, I know I will fail!

Another thing that I will incorporate into my new healthy change lifestyle is to not just go to cross fit, but really work hard and try to improve! For the past 3 months that I have started cross fit, I have been very intimidated. The moves are hard, the weight lifting is hard and everyone is better than I am. The thing I need to remember is that A. I am just getting started into cross fit B. This is really the first time in my life I have used weights and C. it is not a competition...I am doing this for ME and nobody else.

Crossfit is awesome because it is a great mix of cardio and weight. I would love to get some tone and muscle in my body. Between eating different and working harder in cross fit, I think this will be the perfect change for 2015! I am excited to see what comes of this! I recently read an article about cross fit mom's who are 35 and over. It was so inspiring to me to think that I am turning 35 this year and that my goal for 2015 is to be the healthiest I have ever been in my life this year!

So without further ado, bring on 2015 and bring on the healthiest year of my life!!!

No more being scared of this box {box jumps!}

This will be my home away from home Monday-Friday mornings! {Saturday's will be running days!}
