We had 1 month in Ohio before school started which is what we needed to get back into the swing of things before we started school up again.
The girls came with me to my 20 week Dr. appointment where they saw the baby move around on a screen and we got to take home a bunch of baby pics! They were SO excited to see baby girl!SO, Riley is my entrepreneur kid...he is always figuring out ways to sell things or to make money. He made flyers up and distributed them throughout the neighborhood to advertise for his bake sale. The day before, he and I baked swig sugar cookies, brownies and chex mix for his sale. The day came. he set out his table and lemonade. He had a bunch of customers right at the beginning, but an hour into it....
It started to rain...and not just drizzle-but POURING RAIN!
Riley was so determined to stay out there and sell his goods, but once the thunder and lightening started, I had to put an end to it since he was holding a metal umbrella and his cookies were all soggy! He was SO bummed that I made him come inside. He said, "Mom, I'm hardcore-I'm not quitting!" In the hour he was out, he made $10. Not bad!!!
The same week we got back, Riley was able to join his scout troop for his first scout camp out! He was super excited to go!!!
While Riley was gone, we went to the zoo and had a great time! The Columbus Zoo is the biggest zoo in the United States, and the best I might add so we feel pretty lucky to live 15 minutes away from it!
The lions were sleeping right by the glass which was super cool to see them up close!
We bought a summer pass to the community pool, orange pool and to say we got our moneys worth is an understatement! We went at least 20 times to the pool and each time had a blast! Elle really improved this year and doesn't need to use her life jacket anymore!!! Emery got this new life jacket from costco at the beginning of the summer and already outgrew it by the end of the summer!
Regan really wanted to go go an Ohio Fair, so we went to one! He loved showing the kids the 4-H animals, he got the older kids unlimited ride passes and ate fried food-I couldn't eat the food since it was so fried, but loved the homemade lemonade!!!
Sunny begged Riley to ride the ferris wheel with her- he didn't want to since it wasn't exciting and fast enough, but I made him...
Riley and his scout buddies had a few opportunities this summer to get some requirements done...they interviewed our neighbor who is on the township council. This is them at our house coming up with questions to ask for the interview. They also did some service projects!
Elle and Emery took swimming lessons at the pool-this is their first day...
and their last day...on the last day, they were able to go down the orange slides which they normally are too short to do so it was a blast for them!!! Emery would just scream in delight the whole way down!
We went to a Columbus Baseball Game for Regan's work...it was super cool to be there, but it was also super hot! We lasted an hour and then called it quits.
School Clothes and supply shopping...can you tell the 3 kids were having fun and 1 was not?
yep, still not having fun! I think Emery is realizing that his summer fun with 3 BFF's is coming to an end!
Did I mention we love the Orange Pool?
This little guy got this ninja outfit from costco for Halloween, only he just couldn't wait for halloween so he has been wearing it almost every day!
This little girl has conquered the diving board and swims so well to the side on her own!
I will never get tired of the kisses the kids give my growing tummy with baby girl in it!
Rainbow girl
Elle was invited to 4 bday parties this month...2 of them were American Girl doll themed and she just LOVED those ones!
Well, I can honestly say that we had the BEST summer ever! We were able to see our families, we were able to travel all around the country together with our own family, and we were able to enjoy an Ohio summer and get ready for the new school year!
