Shows & Entertainment

Mike & Sully were in the lobby of our hotel-Monsters University was actually a really cute movie!
Usually when we go to Disneyland, we just focus on the rides. No Shows and no waiting in lines for characters. This time we decided to go to some shows and let me just tell you they did not disappoint! The first one we went to was about Mickey going to different lands on a map so we got to see a bunch of Disney princesses we usually don't see at the park...
                           Pocahontas
                               Mulan
                   Rapunzel
                     Tianna
While Riley, Regan and Sunny rode Indiana Jones, I took the little ones to the Tangled Show {since Elle is totally obsessed with her} and it was actually really cute-they made a new theater for Princess Plays.
Some of our AMFAM friends introduced Riley to the world of Disney pin trading...lets just say he became obsessed!!!! The concept is actually pretty cool-you can trade pins with any Disney cast member and then anyone who is wearing a lanyard with pins can trade if they want. Riley would go up to complete strangers and ask to look at their pins and then trade one of his for theirs. I think it is great for social skills because it forces you to talk to people you would not have talked to otherwise. In the end, between our day at the Magic Kingdom and our Day at California Adventures, I would say he made at least 75 trades!!!
The girls felt left out on the whole pin trading thing, so their souvenirs were Marie Kitty from Aristocats and Ariel Baby doll...they forgot all about the pins!

We decided this year to do all of Magic Kingdom in one day {without a park hopper pass} and then California Adventures another day. This was so perfect because we concentrated on each park separately instead of feeling like we had to hit everything in both parks in 1 day. We did every ride in both parks, did tons of shows and didn't feel rushed. Did we feel exhausted? Absolutely! But I liked this plan tons better! In California Adventures, we went to the Animation Studio and learned how to draw Mickey Mouse on huge pads of paper, we did voice overs for Disney movies, and learned a ton about the animation!
