Sunny was able to take a cool class called Kodalay where it taught how to feel the rhythm in music with a class. She loved this class!
Each of the kids had a master class where they met with a violin teacher one on one everyday. It was great to get some good tips from their master class teachers!
If it weren't for Chrissy, there is no way I could have survived Violin Camp! She was my right hand helper and took a kid to classes all week since I physically couldn't be in all 3 classes! She was amazing!!!!
Riley did a great job in his Master Class playing a huge Violin Concerto!
Riley also loved his Orchestra Class!
Sunny has a violin pen pal that she writes to throughout the year so it was fun for them to connect at violin camp!
Sunny loved her master class teacher Miss Wendy!
You would think that there is no way a 5 year old could go to classes all day long and play her violin for hours, but this little girl did an amazing job! She loved all of her classes and did no complain!!
At the end of the week, I bribed the kids with a prize if they did a good job in all of their classes! Each day the kids would get a treat from the treat table and at the end of the week, they earned their big prize...Sunny chose a pig puppet, Elle chose a kitty cat puppet, and Riley chose a disney infinity guy.
So we discovered something while at institute...this little guy really wants to play the violin! My only condition is that he gets potty trained FIRST!!
Riley was a part of a quartet at institute and it was so good for him to learn how to be on his own part without anyone helping him. It was rough at the beginning of the week, but by the end, he played so well with his group!!!
Well, looks like I have 4 violinists now...
Sunny worked on her violin posture the whole week and it really improved!
I like to liken Suzuki Institute to having a baby...with a baby, after you have the baby you forget how sick you were while you were pregnant and how tired you were for 9 months because you have this amazing baby-but then you do it over again because you forgot about the miserable 9 months...
With Suzuki Institute you sign the kids up and are so excited to have them learn a ton of violin techniques, but you forget how tired you get from being in classes all day long while you are at Suzuki Camp! The point is, it is such an awesome week of violin, but it is exhausting as well!!
