While in Utah this summer, I was able to meet up with some of my Utah friends which was so much fun to catch up with them! I was sad that I forgot to take pictures of all of the friend visits, but I was happy with the friends that I did get to see. My new definition of a good friend is one who doesn't require a high maintenance friendship. If you don't talk to them for a while and then are able to pick right back up where you left off on is the kind of friendships that last long in my opinion.
{Manon wanted a serious pose...}
Pool Parties at Manon's are seriously the best...brings me back to our high school days!
Being in South Weber was bitter sweet. Sweet in the fact that I loved living in a small town that was so beautiful-located so close to the mountains. I made some great friends there and had some great memories there. My kids made some fun friends and had great school memories there.
Bitter in the fact that there ended up being some "mean moms" in this area as well. It is really too bad that I left having that bitter feeling about South Weber because overall, I loved it! There were just a few Mom's that were super unkind to me and treated me in a way that I still don't like to talk about because of how hurtful it was. Honestly, I think the reason for this poor mean mom behavior is because I came in to South Weber as the new girl and wanted to have everyone included in all of the activities because I hate clicky groups. Well, I don't think that gelled well with the moms who were born and raised in South Weber, and now live there with their families. They liked their clicky groups...that is the only way I can explain why these mom's were so mean...It's just a good example to me in the end to make sure I never, and I mean NEVER treat anyone the way that I was treated.
Sorry for the rant...like I said, it brought back a whole bucket of good and bad times being back...
SO now...the fun ladies of Herriman. I was able to go boating with all of these awesome friends from Herriman. These are the ladies I started being a Mom with. My friend Amanda is the one who showed me that even though I am getting older and am a Mom, that I can still have a fun time. We started the day out by going out to breakfast, then meeting up with everyone at the lake for a fun filled day of boating. Leave it to The Deals to Meals ladies to make the most amazing salad I have ever had for lunch. I was in pure heaven! The best part of the day was being on the hot dog being pulled by the boat...I seriously could not stop laughing and screaming. I was having fun but was scared at the same time! After boating, we went out to dinner and had a blast talking the night away. I got home after midnight and had to fumble around for a key to my parents house since they had locked every single door!!! My awesome sister Ashley watched the kids for me all day so that I could have some fun Mom time!
Riley was able to go to Scout camp with his 2 Herriman Buddies. Luke lives in Japan and Jaxson lives in South Jordan, but they will always be Herriman friends! Riley slept over with the boys so I didn't see him for 2 days! When I picked him up, he was SO dirty and couldn't stop talking about the fun he had at scout camp! He even played a joke on us by popping a fart bag in my mom's car which stunk it up big time! Scouts!!!!!!!!
Sunny was able to see her Herriman friend, Kayci and without planning it, they wore the same shirt!!
My American Family friend Stephanie did my hair at her salon. She just trimmed it and gave me a melt {dark roots, then goes ombre fade into lighter hair} It was fun to talk to her since we are now state director wives.
We made a special trip to Herriman to see my fun friend Jen Child. While Jen and I chatted, Riley was able to play with her son, his friend, Seer. Obviously they are both into BYU and being cool 10 year olds.
In my opinion, everyone needs a friend like Jen. She is funny, outgoing, full of energy and up for anything crazy! She keeps me young and I know that I can start right back up with her where we left off on and I can talk to her about literally anything! I'm sad I didn't get a pic with her!
When I first moved to Draper, I made a friend named Karen and we have been able to remain friends all of these years. She invited me over to her parents house where we watched a home video of her and I on one of her family vacations to New York. I was SUPER embarrassed watching these home videos of me being so weird as a 17 year old! They videoed me playing a homeless mans violin in New York City, and in a wheelchair after I threw up on the boat going to the State of Liberty! Umm...super awkward but we had a good laugh over it! Karen and I had some fun times in high school and I'm grateful for our friendship.
I was able to see so many more friends but just didn't get pics...I am glad I had a long summer to be able to pack in friend visits because I may not be able to see so many of them since we live so far away!
