Grampy & Grammy

Living at my parents house for 2 months this summer, we obviously got some really good time with them. My kids are so blessed to have grandparents who love them SOOOO much and who really want to spend quality time with them. My parents want to know everything about their grandkids and be apart of their lives.
My Dad is the most fun Grampy there ever was. He took the kids to the church gym a few times to play games {Their favorite game is geronimo where you have to find a ball in the darkness of the gym and yell geronimo if you find it!}, he spent time showing Riley how to get better at shooting the basketball, he would tell story after story to Emery,  and he would read the girls books at night.
My Mom is the most thoughtful Grammy ever. She made so many
fun activities for the kids throughout the summer, she let the kids play with play dough whenever they wanted {since I hate it}, she would read them stories, she took them to the dollar store and let them choose their hearts desires a few times, and she totally spoiled them.
We are so so so lucky and blessed to have the most amazing Grammy & Grampy.

We went to Grampy's State Farm office to bring him lunch. We are all holding a wooden state farm plaque that hung in my Papa's State Farm office in California before he passed away. Insurance is in the family!
Emery was Grampy's shadow and buddy all summer long.
Grampy loved working on basketball technique with Riley.
 Emery loved drinking "hot drinks" with Grampy {what he calls drinks with carbonation}
Sunny & Grampy singing songs on the beach.
Riley & Grampy talking about life on the beach.
A little sand building in the dark with Grampy.
Grampy even takes slivers out of hands so it doesn't hurt...well, maybe it hurt a little!
Swinging in the hammock with Grampy.
Emery & Grampy would share story after story...
Grammy day is probably the most fun day of the year to these kids. It's a day where Grammy takes the kids out on a special day to do fun activities. They started out by going to Color Me Mine and painting pottery, then they chose an outfit out with her, then they each chose a stuffed animal with big eyes {tradition}, then they went out to lunch. Seriously, the most fun day of the year right here!!! When they got home, they couldn't stop talking about all of the fun they had with Grammy on Grammy Day! She is just the BEST!!!
Since Grammy had her own special day, Grampy wanted to get in on the action so one morning he woke all of the kids up and took them to get donuts for breakfast, then to the church gym to play games. The kids had so much fun that I think Grampy day will now be a tradition!
Snuggles and Stories with Grammy & Grampy!
My Mom planned a special night on the beach while we were in California about the Light Of Christ and how we can have that light with us all of the time. She gave us each glow in the dark wands to play with resembling the light of christ. It was such a fun evening and I am so grateful that she thinks of such memorable things to do with our family.
When we came to my parents house at the beginning of the summer, the girls were so excited to see what their room looked like. My Mom made the ping pong room in the basement into a little girl room. It looked SO CUTE! She even hung pictures and decorations on the walls, had organizers for their clothes and jewelry, and matching bedspreads. She even made a toy room for the kids to play in which made a huge difference to me so that they could stay contained in one space and not have toys all over the whole house. I had my own room and the boys had their own room and living in the basement was so perfect! My Mom always makes everything so special for us!
We were grateful we were able to spend some time with Grandma Anderson while in Utah. She is loosing her memory and has a hard time getting around, but she made the effort to come to Sunny's baptism which meant so much to us. My Mom and her sisters do such an amazing job of taking care of their mom which is a great example to me and my sisters. I was so sad that I didn't get a picture of Sunny with my parents on her baptism day, so this is the next best thing with Sunny & Grammy together.
See-my Mom is totally fine with the girls getting ALL of the play dough out and making a mess with it...bless her!
