I ran the Air Force 10k race with some awesome friends. We left on Friday night and headed to Dayton, Ohio. We checked into our hotel, which was super sketchy, but just added to the fun adventure! We couldn't stop laughing over how weird our hotel was! We went out to dinner and talked until they shut the place down!
The morning of the race, we were happy that we had stayed in Dayton, because we had to be at the race at 6am! It was dark and cold when we got there, but by the time we started the race, it was beautiful running weather! My playlist did not work, so I was trying my best to listen to random songs on Pandora...I ran faster than I thought I would and it was an awesome feeling to finish knowing I had done my absolute best!!!Emily broke her foot a few weeks before the race, so instead of running it, she came as our cheerleader!!! So NICE of her to support us even though it was a bummer for her!
I have decided that 6 miles is the perfect distance for me! I do not want to have knee problems in the future, and I have a feeling that if I keep running half marathons, it might injure my knee more so I am going to concentrate on getting the best time I can in 10Ks. You still get the race experience, the shirt, the awesome feeling afterwards that you just did the best you could, and a metal!
These ladies were so much fun and I am so glad I was able to run with them!!!
