We have lived in Ohio for 9 months and haven't seen 1 turtle...until this week! Regan was on his way to work early
One morning when he saw a turtle on someone's driveway. So what did he do?
He picked the turtle up, went back home and woke sunny up to show her his discovery.
She was so excited that he had fulfilled his Ohio promise. She put the turtle in a box, fed him spinach and named him boxy. Unfortunately, when Regan got to work, he looked up what kind of turtle it was and it was an eastern box turtle which is an endangerd animal. I
Told sunny that we wouldn't be able to keep boxy and that when Regan got home from work, we would have to release him into the "woods" (our backyard)
The kids had so much fun playing with boxy before and after school. How do you play with a turtle? They are not fun...I made the kids wash their
Hands and put hand sanitizer on
If they touched the turtle!!!
To play with him...it honestly freaked
Me out every time I saw my baby holding a turtle!!! I would say, "emery, put the turtle down!!!" And he would drop the turtle into the box!!!! Poor boxy!!!
When Regan got home from work, boxy was released into the woods, but sweetie was pretty intrigued by him...I sure hope he has a good life! I'm not an animal lover, so no love lost! I'm just glad
Regan was able to see his promise to
Sunny through!! Her life in Ohio is now complete!
